Many young American married couples who anticipate a family tend to be less authoritarian, but without a specific &quot;handbook&quot;  regarding the principals of child development and training. 

Those that actively us corporal punishment fail and those that try to just let the child grow up &quot;naturally&quot; fail to have good results.
